12th HTSHFF Workshop
"High Temperature Superconductors in High Frequency Fields"

June 9-12, 2014
Fréjus, France
Sponsored by IEEE France and Out of the Fog Research

Overview

This is the twelfth symposium devoted to the properties and applications of High Temperature Superconductors in High Frequency Fields (HTSHFF). The first event was held in Williamsburg (USA) in 1990, and was followed by meetings in Santa Fe (USA), 1992; Cologne (Germany), 1994; Asilomar (USA), 1996; Stockholm (Sweden), 1998; Capri (Italy), 2000; Cape Cod (USA), 2002; Girona (Catalonia, Spain), 2004; Cardiff (UK), 2006; San Diego (USA), 2010; Miyagi (Japan) 2012 and now Fréjus (France) 2014.

Superconductivity is a remarkable physical phenomenon, exhibited by elemental metals at very low temperatures and complex oxides at higher temperatures, where electrical resistance vanishes. One of the most important application areas is high performance, low loss devices for high frequency electronic communication systems.

HTSHFF 2014 is hosted by CNRS/Villa Clythia in Fréjus and is chaired by Denis Crété (THALES, France). The symposium is held at the nice and trendy French Riviera between June 9 - 12, 2014. The symposium brings together scientists, engineers, industrial developers, and students to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results about all aspects (theory, applications and tools) of High Temperature Superconductors in High Frequency Fields, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted. HTSHFF 2014 also invites to present state-of-the-art research in the fundamental aspects relating to the superconducting materials, through to passive devices, through to high frequency communications systems and refrigeration technologies.
